Since 2000, Patty Holohan has worked tirelessly to help make Redlands schools award-winning places where students always come first. Whether she is speaking with a high school senior or a first grader, Patty is committed to ensuring every student is cared for and has access to the food and support they need—both at school and at home. That's

SAFETY
Nationwide, 1 in 10 students in grades K-12 experience sexual misconduct from a school employee. Patty doesn't just wish to get that number to zero in RUSD; she's taken action.
ACT (Actions Create Trust) Now,
a policy enacted while Patty was Redlands Unified school board president in 2018, "has largely been credited with essentially putting a stop to teacher sex abuse".

INCLUSION
Over 2 million California students speak a language other than English at home, and 81% of them speak Spanish.
Over the last five years, Patty has been at the helm of RUSD's development to implement a Dual Language Immersion (Spanish) program into its schools (set to launch in the 2026-2027 school year).

INCLUSION
FUTURE - FOCUS
62.8% of RUSD students come from Socioeconomically Disadvantaged families, which is why having school property that's up-to-date and available to all students is of the utmost importance.
In 2024, Patty used Measure D funding to update Redlands' schools, including updated libraries, roofing upgrades, podcast studios, new playgrounds, cooling shade structures, and fresh HVAC units for Redlands' students.
